Sustainable Travel
As a sustainability-conscious school, Mary Help of Christians Catholic College actively encourages students to select active transport options for their travel to school.
Our school is conveniently located with access to a range of sustainable and active transport options. As well as a controlled crossing linking us to the Greater Ascot development, a range of dedicated pedestrian/cycle routes connect us to The Reserve (approximately 2 kilometres), Liberty Rise (approximately 2 kilometres) and Harris Crossing (approximately 4 kilometres). Kalynda Chase, Willowbank and Greenview are also easily accessible by bicycle.
A range of online mapping tools, such as Google Maps can be used to identify safe and convenient active transport routes. Parents and students are encouraged to check these routes carefully together before relying on them for independent transportation.
To support our students in selecting active transport options for their daily commute to school, we have provided a secure bicycle enclosure with room for 60 bikes. There is room to expand this enclosure as demand increases.
