Mission and Identity

Mary Help of Christians is a Catholic College, delivering a contemporary education enlivened by our commitment to hearing and responding to God’s calling. This Catholic identity is reflected clearly in our Mission Statement and Motto:

Mission Statement:

Inspired by Jesus, with Mary as our model of faith, we are called to experience the fullness of life through learning, service and compassion.

Motto:

Called to Learning, Service and Compassion Our commitment to hearing and responding to God’s calling is inspired by the example of Mary. As noted by Bishop Timothy Harris at the Blessing of the Site Ceremony in March 2024:

“Mary courageously said, ‘Yes!’ to all that God promised. Like her, we seek to witness and nurture in all, a passionate and compassionate spirituality through which Jesus is known and loved. With Mary as our model of faith, students will be encouraged to grow in the fullness of their humanity in an environment where they will feel welcomed, accepted and valued.”

We aspire to follow in Mary’s example by following The Mary’s Way, which brings to life our three pillars of Learning, Service and Compassion.

Mary’s is one of four schools affiliated with the Ministerial Region of the Good Shepherd. All families and friends of the college are invited to join us to celebrate the Eucharist at one of two parish community centres – the Good Shepherd Community Centre in Rasmussen and the Ryan Community Centre in Kirwan.
